Hello! My name is Steffanie Espat. I'm a Social Designer, Graphic Designer, and Illustrator who loves sustainability, creativity, and hands-on work. Using my knowledge of Human-Centered Design, as well as my graphic design and artistic experience, I work to help alleviate social problems and better meet the needs of communities, large and small.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in graphic design from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts in Social Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).
After completing my Masters degree, I joined the Design Strategy team at Booz Allen Hamilton, working with federal clients like the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and the VA's Veterans Experience Office (VEO).
I am currently the Co-Design (Convergent Design) Lead for the Multiscale RECIPES for Sustainable Food Systems network at MICA's Center for Social Design.
If you need help facilitating a workshop, know of a gnarly social problem that needs an extra hand, or are interested in collaborating, please email me at saespat@gmail.com.
